Avangate introduces DIRECTebanking.com, Carte Bleue payment methods for European customers Wednesday 10 June 2009 | 09:38 AM CET

Avangate, a Netherlands-based developer of e-commerce and channel management technology for software companies, makes two payment services available for European customers.

Thus, customers based in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and The Netherlands who are interested in buying software online from Avangate vendors can now pay via DIRECTebanking.com or sofortuberweisung.de, while French customers can use Carte Bleue as an online payment method.

The internet banking-based payment method DIRECTebanking functions in almost the same way as iDEAL, but users need to submit their bank detail outside of their bank’s internet portal. In the Netherlands, DIRECTebanking is available to Fortis, ABN, Rabobank, SNS, and ING Bank online banking account holders.

The Carte Bleue is a debit card payment scheme which allows for settlement of all purchases, including those made via the internet, and cash withdrawal in 160 countries. Carte Bleue is the exclusive representative of the Visa brand in France.
