Barclays introduces internet banking in Tanzania

Financial services company Barclays Tanzania has launched its online banking, tabloid banking and mobile banking functionality, online media outlet Daily News Tanzania unveils.

According to Mr. Samuel Mkuyu, Head of Products at Barclays, cited by the source, Barclays’ internet banking is an online platform which enables customers to carry out their banking transactions and pay their utility bills via the internet.

Barclays Tabloid Banking (BTB) which is internet banking via applications supported by Android and i-OS. BTB has the same functionality as Barclays Internet for Retail (BIR) except it does not allow self-registration and only supports payments to billers and/or beneficiaries already added as payees in the users profile. Barclays Mobile Banking (BMB) is internet banking provided via applications supported by Android and i-OS.

Barclays provides financial services in retail banking, credit cards, corporate and investment banking, as well as wealth management and has an international presence in Europe, the Americas, Africa and Asia.
