BigCommerce secures USD 15 million in funding round

US e-commerce services provider BigCommerce has raised USD 15 million in Series A funding from the private equity firm General Catalyst Partners.

With the new influx of capital, BigCommerce will expand its headcount in Sydney and Austin, and invest in its Texas operations and sales and marketing initiatives.

BigCommerce provides SaaS services for retailers and merchants to manage e-commerce. Services include multi-channel retailing, automated email marketing, inventory control and an online storefront. The company, which has 20,000 clients, has also launched an application for merchants to list inventory on Facebook.
