cashU warns users against malware threat

cashU, an online payment provider, has warned computer users from the Middle East with regard to a potential increase in malware threats and recent virus attacks across region, falsely pose as legitimate sources that lock user computers and illegally ask them for payments via CashU Dubai.

The company has also warned Middle East users to remain diligent and protect their computers with up to date antivirus and antimalware software in light of the recent malicious attacks across the region.

The malware virus infects computers by locking the screen and asking the user to pay a ransom via CashU service to unlock it. This security threat is called ‘ransomware’ and has been targeting computer users across the region with documented attacks in Saudi Arabia, UAE and Qatar as well as the Levant.
