UK coffee chain Coffee Republic has teamed up with electronic money operator sQuidcard to launch the Coffee Republic contactless prepaid 'Payment and Loyalty' card.

Cardholders can load their cash with up to GBP 100 in order to make micro-payments at Coffee Republic stores. Also, cardholders get 10 percent rewards for every payment made with the Coffee Republic card. This 10 percent is added to the cardholder’s ‘I Love CR’ loyalty purse on the card. The loyalty purse can be used when card users have enough to pay for a free coffee. The card can be recharged with cash in-store and also online. Cardholders can register their payment and loyalty card online with sQuid to manage their card as well as to protect it their card balance should they lose it.
