Etisalat, Wirecard to unveil m-payment services at MWC 2013

UAE-based telecom operator Etisalat and German provider of electronic payment and risk management services Wirecard are set to unveil their mobile payment services at the Mobile World Congress, taking place between 25-28 February in Barcelona.

One service uses Wirecard`s Payment Processing platform and a Near Field Communication (NFC) interface to make contactless payments via Smartphone, leveraging MasterCard PayPass technology.

Additionally, Etisalat is set to enable its customers to accept credit card payments with mobile card readers that plug directly into mobile phones.

In recent news, Wirecard has teamed up with telecommunication services provider Telefonica O2 Germany.
