Chris Gabriel, former CEO of mobile telecommunications company Zain Africa has been appointed co-chair of the World E-Money Council, a body focussed on helping e-money providers worldwide develop their platforms in a coherent and orderly manner., as its co-chair.
Gabriel will be sharing the seat with Michael Lafferty, World E-Money Council co-chair and chairman of the Lafferty Group.The newly established Council will operate under the global patronage of the OMFIF (Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum) and will be managed by Lafferty Group.
The Council includes retail banks, cards and payments providers, telecommunication companies, technology vendors, central banks and other relevant operators.
