Tuesday 22 May 2012 11:26 CET | News

Global identification-based technology company Identive Group has launched a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag for mobile phones dubbed tomPAY.

The tomPAY tag allows payment card manufacturers to provide contactless payment services using consumers mobile devices.

The tag is based on Identives tom (tag on metal) technology and features a peel and stick form factor that allows it to be manufactured using the same processes as an ISO PVC card and then popped out of the card and affixed to a mobile phone. When placed on phones, tomPAY enables contactless mobile payments and can also be used for transport ticketing and loyalty applications.

Identive Group provides services including identity management, physical and logical access control, cashless payment, NFC solutions and RFID-enabled applications for customers in the government, enterprise, consumer, education and healthcare sectors.
