Ingenico partners Calypso Networks Association for contactless technology development and deployment Tuesday 31 August 2010 | 02:35 PM CET

France-based provider of payment products and services Ingenico has received certification from the Calypso Networks Association (CNA) to provide the latter with contactless solutions and terminals.

Under the terms of the agreement, CNA is set to offer Ingenico products via its Calypso distribution points in more than 80 cities across 21 countries. Among the products Ingenico is set to supply to CNA are the iPA280 PAYment PDA and EFT930 mobile payment terminal, as well as the UNattended range of terminals comprising integrated modular elements (card reader for magnetic stripe cards, smart cards and contactless cards, displays, keypad or control modules).

The partnership with CNA is expected to allow Ingenico to extend its suite of payment terminals to the transport networks where Calypso’s contactless transport application technology is used.
The association is leading the international development of Calypso technology, based on the specifications of a contactless transaction between a portable device containing a transport application and a terminal.

Established in 2003, CNA is present across 21 countries and groups together transport operators and manufacturers looking to leverage their experiences in the development of e‐ticketing systems and Calypso technology.
