Masabi launches Android app for mobile rail ticketing

Friday 1 June 2012 14:40 CET | News

UK-based transit mobile ticketing services provider Masabi has launched an application for Android mobile devices dubbed Smart Card Buddy Beta.

The new application reads and displays contents of transport ticketing smart cards, allowing passengers to buy rail tickets which can then be either picked-up at stations, displayed as an on-screen barcode or via built-in NFC. Customers can also top-up credit for their smart cards on their handsets.

Masabi develops mobile ticketing technology for the transport sector. The company’s applications dubbed Ticket Machine in Your Pocket allow passengers to buy and display tickets on most mobile phones.
