Novo Dia Group deploys iPod touch devices with m-POS app for farmers

Wednesday 27 June 2012 10:13 CET | News

US-based software services provider Novo Dia Group has deployed 325 iPod touch devices with the Mobile Market+ point-of-sale (POS) application at farmers markets in Michigan.

The Mobile Market+ point-of-sale (POS) application enables participating vendors to accept electronic benefit cards (EBT) and process debit and credit card transactions with an iPod touch device which has a magnetic card reader attached. Customers swipe their benefit cards, enter their personal pin codes and are able to view the card balance and the approved items purchased on the screen. Customers can receive the receipt by email, in a text message or in printed form.

Additionally, market managers and vendors can access transaction reports from the iPod touch or through an internet portal.
