The Palm Springs district board of education has decided to allow for online processing via PayPal for lunch payments, Californian newspaper The Desert Sun reports.
The initiative is to be put into practice in a few months, according to Jim Novak, who is part of Palm Springs Unified School District administration, cited by the same source. The decision allows parents to make payments online to their child's food services account. Libraries and Associated Student Body groups are also considering adopting the same strategy.
PayPal enables individuals and businesses to send and receive payments online using a bank account, credit card or stored balance. Additionally, it provides electronic fund transfer and billing services.
