PayPal to launch business in Russia

eBays online payment unit, PayPal is set to launch USD 25 million business in Russia and open its first office in Moscow, online media outlet en.rian.ru reports.

In 2010, online payments turnover in Russia has increased 75 percent year-on-year, reaching USD 70 billion (RUB 2.545 billion), according to Viktor Dostov, the Digital Money Association Chairman, cited by the source.

As far as the mobile segment is concerned, PayPal has signed m-payment service deal with Chinese marketplaces. The company is reportedly expected to be the exclusive provider for the new mobile sites and mobile apps of three Chinese marketplaces, namely Dhgate, LightInTheBox and TradeTang.
