The newly-launched DPD Online service will allow customers to carry out online payments using cards for parcel shipping. The payment platform has been developed in partnership with the Romanian e-commerce services integrator Gecad ePayment. The company expects to attract 200 new monthly transactions from individuals, despite Romanians’ skepticism towards online card payment services.
Founded in 1997 as Pegasus, DPD offers intra-city deliveries. In March 2008, GeoPost Yurtici Kargo, the express and parcel shipment group acquired the majority stake in Pegasus and the company became DPD Romania.
