Under the terms of the deal, CyberSource will connect directly to VisaNet, allowing acquiring banks to use their existing VisaNet connection when adopting CyberSource’s e-commerce services. Viaplay will be able to use its VisaNet processor, UCS, to access CyberSource’s payment services.
Viaplay offers subscribers access to streamed movies and on-demand television via the internet. CyberSource provides payment management services which enable enterprise and mid-size merchants to transact sales domestically and globally via internet, mobile, call center and face-to-face sales channels. CyberSource was acquired by Visa in 2010.
