Tanla, RIM partner for gift card services in the Middle East

Tuesday 15 May 2012 00:41 CET | News

India-based mobile payment and license management services provider Tanla Solutions has entered a partnership with Canadian wireless device company Research In Motion (RIM) to deliver gift card services in the Middle East.

Under the agreement, consumers are set to be able to access the gift card by scanning a QR code with their mobile devices or by accessing RIMs application store dubbed App World. This takes users to a discovery application where they can see the content available in the offer. RIM uses these cards to reward BlackBerry users for their loyalty as well as to enable them to purchase new phones.

Tanla enables transactions in 160 countries. The company’s mobile payment service is used by software vendors, application developers and content providers to enable transactions on the handset.
