Tieto, I-Teco pull out of former JV plans in Russia

Finnish IT, e-invoicing and consulting services provider Tieto and Russian IT service and consulting company I-Teco have agreed to pull out of their plans to establish a joint venture company in Russia.

In September 2010, the companies expressed their intentions to team up for a new JV company, TrustInfo, in a bid to provide infrastructure and cloud services in Russia. Under the terms of the agreement, Tieto was expected to own 70 percent of the shares in the JV company, providing an initial investment of EUR 20 million. The JV was planned to be based in the existing I-Tecos data centre.

Tieto and I-Teco have recently re-evaluated the situation and decided not to form a JV. However, the companies are expected to continue their cooperation in the data centre field in Russia.

Tieto’s product portfolio includes several banking services, such as online banking and payment options, as well as card and capital market services to development, application management and outsourcing.

In a recent development, Tieto has entered a partnership with Nordic financial institution Storebrand Bank, part of the Storebrand Group, a Nordic company active in the financial markets.
