UK smart cards, tokens and mobiles software services provider Aconite signs an agreement with South African e-commerce transaction management company Traderoot.
Under the terms of the contract, Traderoot is set to distribute Aconite’s EMV and smart card products to African banking, retail, transit and healthcare institutions which issue chip-based payment products. The Aconite EMV and Smart Product portfolio includes Aconite EMV Enablement, a service which allows magnetic stripe card issuers to switch to chip and PIN products, the EMV Risk Management suite, Aconite Smart Product Life-cycle Management, which is a smart product portfolio management application, as well as Aconite Smart Prepaid, which deals with EMV prepaid and contactless payment products issuance.
According to its representatives, by combining its e-commerce services with Aconite’s EMV and smart products software, Traderoot aims to provide its customers with an integrated approach to card issuance, management, transaction verification and payment processing.
