Union Bank of India, Nokia team up for m-banking services

Financial institution the Union Bank of India has entered a partnership with Finnish multinational communications corporation Nokia to launch a mobile banking service dubbed ‘Union Bank Money powered by Nokia’ across India.

The service is set to enable unbanked consumers to transfer money, withdraw cash from registered Nokia stores and ATMs, pay utility bills as well as top-up prepaid SIM cards with their mobile devices

In May 2012, PagSeguro, a Brazilian online payments provider, has inked a contract with Nokia, to introduce a near field communication (NFC) service which allows users to transfer money and to make payments in bars, restaurants and stores.
