Western Union and Acxsys, a Canadian provider of electronic payment services, have entered a partnership with financial institution BMO Bank of Montreal, the retail banking arm of BMO Financial Group.

Under the term of the agreement, BMO Personal Banking customers will be able to conduct online Western Union Money Transfer transactions directly from their accounts via Acxsys’s Interac e-Transfer platform, to Western Union Agent locations in Canada and more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.

The agreement is expected to be implemented in Q1 of 2013. In recent news, Western Union has extended its money transfer receive card to Costa Rica, Guatemala.
