Latin America's online auction site MercadoLibre has seen its revenue for the fourth quarter of 2009 jump by 47 percent year-over-year to USD 49 million.

Marketplace revenue rose by 31.1 percent to USD 34.1 million, while payments revenue grew 100.9 percent to USD 14.9 million. During the period under review, the number of items sold on MercadoLibre climbed 47.3 percent to 8.6 million, while gross merchandise volume reached USD 786.9 million, up 50.3 percent, as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Total payments transactions increased by 107.7 percent to 1 million, as compared to Q4 2008, while total payments volume grew by 145.7 percent to USD 135.8 million.

The company`s revenues for the full year reached USD 172.8 million, up 26.1 percent year-over-year.
