In 2010, the Middle East is to witness an increase of over 15 percent in e-commerce transactions, mainly driven by infrastructural development, government focus on online services, and growing internet penetration, albawaba.com reports.
Travel and gaming are the most competitive e-commerce sectors. OneCard, the Saudi Arabian online payment services provider, has announced various e-payment agreements to leverage the Middle East’s e-commerce segment. The company teamed up with low cost airlines and throughout 2010, it will launch online travel-related products under parent company National Net Ventures. OneCard will also roll out online applications to enable consumers to access their OneCard accounts from their mobile device.
The company's service categories include mobile charge cards, website hosting services, stocks and currency, internet service providers and internet phone cards. Via the OneCard prepaid online card, users can access internet connectivity, communication services, mobile services, premium subscriptions and paid content online.
