In 2010, the Middle East is to witness an increase of over 15 percent in e-commerce transactions, mainly driven by infrastructural development, government focus on online services, and growing internet penetration, albawaba.com reports.

Travel and gaming are the most competitive e-commerce sectors. OneCard, the Saudi Arabian online payment services provider, has announced various e-payment agreements to leverage the Middle East’s e-commerce segment. The company teamed up with low cost airlines and throughout 2010, it will launch online travel-related products under parent company National Net Ventures. Via the OneCard prepaid online card, users can access internet connectivity, communication services, mobile services, premium subscriptions and paid content online.
