Steady growth of Polish e-commerce in 2009 Tuesday 9 February 2010 | 11:35 AM CET

The Polish e-commerce market has seen an increase from EUR 2.69 billion in 2008 to EUR 3.17 billion in 2009, according to estimates made by the Direct Marketing Association, cited by Warsaw Business Journal.

The year-on-year growth in the e-commerce segment is attributable to an increase in popularity witnessed by internet auctions. The Polish auction service Allegro has generated almost half of the total revenue, according to the same source.
