US-based IT management software developer CA Technologies has completed the acquisition of Arcot Systems, a provider of authentication and fraud prevention services, in a transaction worth USD 200 million.
The acquisition is expected to expand the delivery of CA Technologies’ cloud security services through the addition of authentication technology to its Identity and Access Management (IAM) offerings. Arcot’s products, delivered as cloud services or deployed on premises, are set to prevent fraudulent transactions generated by credit card transactions.
In addition, by combining Arcot System's technology with its CA SiteMinder portfolio, the company aims to provide customers with enhanced capabilities designed to reduce risk, support regulatory compliance and secure business transactions.
Founded in 1997, Arcot Systems co-invented with Visa the 3-D Secure protocol for online payment security.
