International data communications company Transaction Network Services has merged its TNS Managed POS Encryption service with VeriFone’s VeriShield Protect system to increase protection of sensitive cardholder data at the point-of-sale terminal.

VeriShield Protect’s encryption technology is set to ensure secure payment transactions as the card is swiped. The TNS Managed POS Encryption service transports encrypted transactions through to the TNS global network. The service then manages the decryption process, message formatting and secure delivery of the transaction to the retailer’s payment processor.

VeriShield Protect Decryption Gateways are located within geographically diverse TNS data centers providing updates on the delivery status of encrypted transactions.
