UK-based accounting software provider for small businesses KashFlow has reportedly teamed up with Barclaycard, the credit card division of UK financial services company Barclays, for a merchant e-invoicing pilot, eu.techcrunch.com reports.
The same source has indicated that as part of the trial, Barclaycard is currently recruiting merchants to take part in the pilot scheme within the overall limit of 100 places.
According to TechCrunch Europe, which quotes an email that has allegedly been circulated by Barclaycard, the service currently trialled by Barclaycard and KashFlow is specifically targeted at SMEs; it would allow them to create, send and manage invoices through a web browser, as well as track overdue payments and (optionally) receive online payments via Barclaycard’s payment gateway. TechCrunch also claims that Barclays would charge a 3 percent transaction fee for invoices paid via the new e-invoicing gateway.
Under the terms of the partnership, it appears that KashFlow is set to take over responsibility for customer support services relating to the new e-invoicing gateway.
