Ignify to deploy invoicing and revenue tracking systems for the US Port of Long Beach Wednesday 17 February 2010 | 10:41 AM CET

US ERP and CRM consulting and e-commerce solutions provider Ignify has closed a contract with the Port of Long Beach California, the second largest sea port in the US.

Under the terms of the contract, Ignify is set to implement Microsoft’s Dynamics AX platform for the Long Beach harbour department. The new ERP system is expected to heighten productivity by automating the Port’s billing, accounts receivable, revenue recognition and analytical reporting systems responsible for moving over USD 100 billion worth of products, natural resources and provisions traversing through the harbour on a yearly basis.

Microsoft Dynamics AX will serve as the central core for the Port of Long Beach’s new Port Operating and Revenue Tracking System (PORTS) that will be developed and implemented by Ignify. The key role of the PORTS platform will be to assist the Port of Long Beach increase the efficiency of the billing process and improve customer service by managing invoices, accounts receivables and cash application.

Dynamics AX-based PORTS will provide EDI and real-time reporting of billing data, thereby enhancing financial reporting and automating data validation. In addition, a new web-based portal will offer tenants, terminal operators, and employees the ability to create, view and manage orders online.
