US-based financial services provider Bank of the West has gone live with its new mobile banking platform.

The new service is set to provide the bank’s customers with the ability to check account balances, transfer funds, monitor their transaction history and receive account alerts on their mobile devices. The bank also plans to launch an iPhone version of the service in the near future.

Recently, Bank of the West has made available POPMoney, a person-to-person (P2P) payments service powered by CashEdge. PopMoney allows bank customers to send money from their bank account, using a recipient's email address, mobile phone number or bank account information.

Bank of the West activates in the US through more than 700 branches and commercial banking locations.
