Cityzencar selects Netsize for SMS-based communication service Wednesday 8 February 2012 | 01:41 PM CET

French peer-to-peer car sharing social network CityzenCar has deployed Netsize’s SMS-based communication service to enhance the car rental process for consumers.

The Netsize SMS communication service supports the rental process, from renter validation to rental notifications, as well as confirming booking details. The service works on handsets and is compatible with wireless networks.

Car owners are notified of each rental request by SMS and if they approve it, the driver will receive a text message on their mobile phone containing details of the car and location. The car owner can then choose to either deliver the keys to the driver in person or authorize CityzenCar to unlock the car doors. This system is made possible with the CityzenBox, an embedded telematic device placed in the car.

Netsize is a Gemalto company and an m-commerce services provider. Its mobile payment service is available across 50 countries worldwide and it enables mobile commerce, integrating carrier billing methods, including direct billing.
