JPMorgan partners GoPago for mobile payments service Thursday 23 February 2012 | 03:18 PM CET

US-based financial services provider JPMorgan Chase has made an investment in US-based mobile payments start-up GoPago and has partnered the company for mobile payments trial set to take place in April 2012, online media outlet reuters.com reports. The amount of the investment has not been disclosed.

According to the source, the GoPago service is set to allow consumers to use their mobile phones to order and pay for local goods or services and then show the merchant a receipt on the phone screen when picking up a purchase. The bank is set to start a trial of the GoPago service in April 2012.

JPMorgan Chase provides investment banking, financial services for consumers, small business and commercial banking, financial transaction processing, asset management and private equity. The company has assets of USD 2.2 trillion and operations in more than 60 countries.

In recent news, Chase Card Services, a division of JPMorgan Chase, has entered a partnership with US-based airline company Southwest Airlines to enhance its Ultimate Rewards travel options for card members.
