Mobile payment services provider Mi-Pay has closed a deal with Middle East and African mobile operator Zain to provide the latter with an international airtime top-up service.

The service aims to enable people in the UK, Europe, US and Canada to purchase Zain airtime for persons living in countries where Zain operates.

According to the deal between the companies, Mi-Pay will be providing Zain with full-service delivery which includes Zain branded front-end web designs, settlement and reconciliation, merchant acquisition and system monitoring and reporting.

Senders register for the service online or through the clients contact centre and make payment through card, bank account or as cash paid to a local agent. This service supports multiple denominations and currencies. The users will be able to top up their mobile phone with defined airtime values ranging from USD 20 to USD 50 several times per month.

Zain operates in 23 countries across the Middle East and Africa and provides mobile voice and data services to over 70 million customers.
