Global provider of mobile payment services mopay has entered an agreement with Brazil-based alternative payments network paymentez to add a direct carrier billing option for single and recurring online payments to the latter’s existing payment methods, including an in-app service for the Android platform.
paymentez is a monetization platform processing micro-transactions for virtual goods and content via online and offline payment methods including credit cards, virtual currencies, game cards and cash. The company's services are available across Latin America.
Under the agreement, mopay is set to be made available as an in-game payment method in online and social games in Latin America. Additionally, mopay is set to be the mobile payments method for users looking to stock up on the paymentez PINS, the company's virtual currency. In order to purchase in-game items or PINS, consumers need to input their mobile phone number in the payment window online and confirm the payment by entering the PIN they received via SMS. The purchase is billed to the user's mobile phone account.
