Norwegian electronic ID, payment and information services provider Bankenes BetalingsSentral (BBS) has agreed to implement Todos’ onMobile service after the completion of a pilot program.

Set to be downloadable over-the-air (OTA), the system that runs the application uses a Java midlet that makes it compatible with a range of mobile phones, such as iPhone and Android, and ensures user authentication. Todos has customized the Java midlet version of onMobile for the special requirements of the Norwegian market.

Bankenes BetalingsSentral (BBS), the central clearing house for bank payments, use the Todos Versatile Authentication Server to support digital authentication for a group of around 25 Norwegian banks.

A midlet is an application that uses the Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP) of the Connected Limited Device Configuration (CLDC) for the Java ME environment.
