Telcel, MoreMagic Solutions to offer mobile phone recharge services in Mexico Tuesday 9 March 2010 | 11:05 AM CET

Mobile payments platform provider MoreMagic Solutions and Mexican wireless services provider Telcel have closed a deal to make electronic airtime transfer and mobile phone recharge services available in Mexico.

Under the terms of the deal, Telcel clients can purchase prepaid airtime or transfer electronic airtime to a Telcel phone, using the MoreMagic Solutions International Recharge Hub. The service can be accessed at www.etopuponline.com , from Western Union agent locations as well as other international retail locations.

Once the customer tops up the target fund, the recipient is notified via a personalized SMS message.

Mexico is the leading country of origin for US immigrants, with the Mexican-born population numbering 11.5 million in early 2009, according to the Pew Hispanic Center.
