Global provider of payment and risk services WorldPay has selected US online mobile payments company Boku to integrate the latter’s payments platform into its payment network.
Under the agreement, WorldPay's merchants are set to enable their customers to make purchases and pay via their mobile operator bill without the need for credit or debit accounts. BOKU's direct APIs allow WorldPay merchants to integrate mobile payments into their checkout process and add carrier billing as an option by registering with BOKU and activating the service using their WorldPay account. Users need to enter the phone number to check out and confirm with the letter Y via SMS - no other information needed.
Based in San Francisco with offices in Europe and Asia, BOKU reaches over 2.5 billion consumers worldwide. With localization in 28 different languages, BOKU operates in 64 different countries, across 230 different carriers globally.
WorldPay has 75 national and international payment methods and operates in over 40 countries worldwide. In recent news, WorldPay has accredited Australian technology company Mint Wireless to provide mobile payment services in the UK and Ireland.
