La Caixa, Samsung partner to deliver banking services via TV remote Monday 6 February 2012 | 01:46 PM CET

Spanish financial services provider La Caixa has revealed plans to provide its customers with remote banking services via their television remote control through an agreement with Samsung Electronics, a global provider of advanced semiconductor services.

The application will be available for all Samsung Smart TV compatible devices, including televisions, Blu-ray players and Home Cinemas connected to the internet. Thus, La Caixa customers who use such Samsung devices will now be able to access their accounts, check balances and view recent movements using the television remote. In addition, La Caixa will also open an additional channel to Línea Abierta, its online banking platform, which is currently accessed using computers, mobile devices and tablets.

European savings bank La Caixa has a network of more than 5,500 branches and over 8,100 ATMs.
