SafetyPay, a global online payments services company, has launched a pilot version of its payment services in the US.
The service enables participating merchants to provide their customers with online banking-based payment services for a three-month trial period. SafetyPay was created to assist financial institutions in monetizing their online banking platforms by providing a direct payment method between a consumer’s bank and the retailer of choice. SafetyPay’s payment service links the customer directly to their online banking account.
The company also intends to launch a promotional program aimed at customers of more than 600 US regional and community banks.
SafetyPay activates in a number of countries in Europe and Latin America and has access to more than 90 million bank customers worldwide.
