Avangate adds new payment options for European customers Monday 31 May 2010 | 03:28 PM CET

Avangate, a Netherlands-based provider of electronic software distribution and reseller management services for software vendors, has introduced new payment methods for European customers, namely iDeal for The Netherlands, WebMoney for Russia, ELV- Direct Debit and Giropay for Germany.

“Across Europe, online bank transfers, Direct Debit and eWallets are growing in popularity. If we look only at iDEAL in The Netherlands or ELV-Direct Debit in Germany, they are top payment methods in each respective country. Avangate vendors targeting these markets have seen 20% + increases in sales conversion rates, confirming our expectations”, according to Laurentiu Ghenciu, the company`s VP of Sales and Marketing.

In June 2009, Avangate announced the addition of DIRECTebanking.com or sofortuberweisung.de for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and The Netherlands and Carte Bleue for France. Six months later, the company joined forces with Alipay, Alibaba's online payments division, to enable Avangate vendors to accept Alipay for China domestic payments in Chinese Renminbi.

With a sales office in the US and an operational and development office in Romania, Avangate provides an e-commerce platform, a partner relationship management system, an affiliate network and web marketing services. The company is currently serving more than 900 software vendors (with the Avangate and ARMS solutions), including BitDefender, Kaspersky.ro, Lavasoft, Markzware and Iobit.
