Social networking website Facebook has inked an agreement with US-based retail company Target to market its Facebook Credit gift cards via the latter’s network of stores, usatoday.com reports.
Under the deal, Facebook will make available a new distribution channel for its Credit prepaid gift cards which includes the ability to sell Credits via Target’s 1,750 retail stores and at Target.com. Facebook’s more than 200 million social game players will be able to purchase the new gift cards for amounts ranging from USD 15 to USD 50.
The cards can initially be used on more than 150 social games and applications, including titles from gamemakers such as Zynga (FarmVille, FrontierVille), CrowdStar (Happy Aquarium, HelloCity) and PopCap Games (Bejeweled Blitz). Facebook gift cards do not replace Zynga's existing game cards.
Most recently, Facebook has expanded the network distribution for its Facebook Credits by establishing partnerships with Asian payment services provider MOL and online payments services provider PayNearMe.
