Monext renews PCI DSS certification for entire line of merchant services Monday 6 February 2012 | 02:07 PM CET

French electronic payment company Monext has renewed its Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certification for Payline, Pavavenue and tokenisation services. The audit was conducted by XMCO, a consulting firm focused on information system security.

Payline is an online payment platform which provides merchants with over 30 payment options and is available for all remote sales channels. Payline is used by more than 3,000 French and European e-merchants and processes almost 160 million payment transactions per year.

Via the Payavenue service merchants are able to view and manage their payment transactions (payment cards or cheques) regardless of terminal type, geographical location (France and Europe) and number of points of sale (POS). Currently, more than 20,000 payment terminals are connected to this service.

The tokenisation service, which is offered to all clients who handle card payments, automatically encrypts sensitive and confidential data (such as bank card numbers) during payment transactions. The card's actual numbers are replaced by a sequence of numbers, called a token, which prevent fraud attacks. Monext has been offering PCI DSS compliant merchant services since 2007.

Most recently, Monext received a PCI DSS certification for its international acquiring platform.
