Paymate rolls out risk-managed gateway Monday 24 August 2009 | 09:49 AM CET

Australia-based online payment services provider Paymate has introduced a risk assessment service for large online merchants.

Dubbed Paymate Sentinel, the risk-managed payment gateway service plugs into the merchant's website to replace a traditional payment gateway, allowing merchants to make use of an existing merchant facility or get a new one with approved major banks. Merchants get paid directly into their bank account for approved payments. Prior to bank authorisation, Paymate conducts an online risk assessment by implementing neural technology and a rules engine for fraudulent payments detection. Paymate Sentinel can be integrated into a merchant's website, shopping cart or ecommerce platform via an Application Programming Interface and a Software Development Kit.

Paymate is an approved online payment method on eBay.com, serving buyers in 57 countries and sellers in Australia, New Zealand and the US.
