PayU, Ukash partner for cash-based online payments in South Africa Monday 30 January 2012 | 12:37 PM CET

South African payment gateway PayU Payment Solutions has entered an agreement with UK voucher-based prepaid payment services provider Ukash to allow online businesses to accept the latter as an additional cash-based online payment method.

As part of the deal, the payment processing system PayU SafeShop will allow online businesses to accept and process 11 various payment methods including Ukash. Online merchants will be able to accept Ukash payments on their website if PayU enables the capability for their shopping basket.

Ukash customers can redeem vouchers at 25 South African online retailers directly, including iBurst, Ladbrokes, Flowers.co.za, Interactive Sports, ClickBay, Smokoo, Yarona Healthcare and others. Ukash allows people worldwide to use cash electronically and is available at 420,000 retail locations in over 50 countries globally.

In recent news , Ukash joined TIGA, the trade association for the UK games industry.
