PlaySpan gathers USD 18 million in Series C funding round Friday 20 August 2010 | 11:10 AM CET

PlaySpan, a US-based provider of monetization services for online games, virtual worlds and social networks has completed a Series C funding round that resulted in USD 18 million worth of capital.

The financing session has been led by global network operator Vodafone Ventures and Softbank Bodhi Fund, with participation from existing investors Menlo Ventures, Novel TMT Ventures, STIC. PlaySpan intends to use the funds to expand its presence on the European and Asian markets and to grow PlaySpan's global publisher and user base.

PlaySpan provides global payment solutions via its subsidiary PayByCash with 85 payment methods in 180 countries. The company`s Ultimate Game Card can be used for payments on 300 multiplayer games and around 700 games on popular social networking sites.
