ClickandBuy, the online payment system for Spiegel since 2002, now enables the readers of the German weekly magazine to pay for a new purchasable iPhone App.

As part of the paid content offer, the purchasable version of the current edition of Spiegel will be made available for download every Saturday evening. As a result, iPhone and iPod Touch customers will be able to read the current edition of Spiegel before it appears in print the following Monday. In the future, subscribers who currently use ClickandBuy to buy the Spiegel e-paper online will also be able to access it via the e- reader application, which has been developed for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

In other news, Germany`s newspaper publishing house Axel Springer Publishing House has entered an agreement with ClickandBuy to add online paywalls to two of its German newspapers, the Berliner Morgenpost and the Hamburger Abendblatt.

Over 16,000 online traders use ClickandBuy's e-payment system for their e-commerce, retail, online entertainment, paid content and services billing, including Apple iTunes, Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom, Telefónica, Orange, msn and AOL.
