US processor 2000Charge adds iDEAL online payment method Wednesday 4 February 2009 | 02:30 PM CET

US payments processor 2000Charge has added Dutch online payment method iDEAL to the company's services offering.

The iDEAL method has been developed by Dutch banks to allow customers to pay online for products and services. iDEAL allows online payments to be made using online banking via the consumer’s own bank. Currently, six Dutch banks offer iDEAL payments: ING bank, Post bank, Fortis Bank, ABN AMRO bank, Rabobank and SNS bank. When paying with iDEAL, the customers are directed via a connection to their internet bank account at their financial institution. The online banking enabled payment is irreversible, meaning that the consumer cannot reverse the transfer after the bank has received the payment. The merchant is not faced with a chargeback risk.

2000Charge is an online financial transaction development company providing transaction services that enable web merchants to accept and process European EUDEBIT and other alternative payment services for products and services purchased over the internet. EUDEBIT (European Bank Debit) system is a form of payment in Europe for both one-time or recurring payments.
