Xsolla, ZipZap team up to enable gamers to pay for virtual currency with cash Thursday 26 January 2012 | 10:45 AM CET

Xsolla, a global virtual currency reseller, has entered a partnership with ZipZap, an alternative payments company, to enable gaming publishers to expand their player base to tweens/teens and users who do not have a credit card or bank account or prefer to pay with cash.

Under the terms of the deal, ZipZap will enable gamers to buy virtual currency using cash by visiting a local payment centre, which includes banks, grocery stores, post offices, kiosks, and convenience stores. ZipZap's CashPay is currently available as a payment option in Heroes of Newerth (S2 Games), Social Networks Vkontakte and Odnoklassniki.

ZipZap's CashPay payment option will enable those without bank accounts or credit cards to be able to pay for virtual currency in their favourite games using their extensive cash payment network, which includes over 700,000 payment centres worldwide.

In recent news , Xsolla has teamed up with SafetyPay, a US-based online payment systems developer, to provide payment processing services for online gaming, MMO ( massively multiplayer online), social, mobile and casual games.

Founded in 2010, ZipZap enables consumers to use cash to make online purchases, pay bills and top-up e-wallets, prepaid cards and mobile accounts. Through a global network of over 700,000 payment centres, consumers can complete transactions in their neighbourhood using local currency.
