Zuora unveils subscription commerce tool Thursday 5 November 2009 | 09:38 AM CET

Zuora, a US provider of online subscription billing and payment services, has launched a subscription commerce solution built with the PayPal X global payments platform.

Dubbed Z-Payments 2.0, the payment and commerce solution for subscription businesses works with PayPal's Adaptive Payment APIs to enable pre-authorised payments, to enable companies to manage varying recurring payments, such as: usage-based charges; payment auditability and failure handling; revenue operations, including voids, refunds, overpayments, chargebacks, and credit adjustments; automation and notification, as well as accounting system integration.

The company`s Z-Payments 2.0 supports PayPal, Authorize.net, CyberSource, Chase/Paymentech, also offering a Payment Gateway SDK to enable customers and partners to integrate additional gateways. By using Z-Payments 2.0, companies can develop subscription storefronts using PayPal X's capabilities. These include media (which requires the ability to check entitlements and control access to online content), cloud computing, SaaS and gaming (in need of the flexibility to charge with subscription or micropayments options).

Z-Payments 2.0 will be released in Q1 2010.
