Electronic payments services provider Atos Origin has acquired Venture Infotek, an Indian payments processing company, in a bid to expand its market share across the Asian payments market.

Created in 1991, Venture Infotek operates in merchant acquiring, card processing, loyalty programs, government benefits programs on behalf of the Indian banks and major retailers. The company will be integrated into Atos Wordline, the specialised entity of Atos Origin in Hi-Tech Transactional Services (HTTS) and electronic payments.

This transaction is fully in line with the strategy of the group to grow its HTTS activities and to make acquisitions in the payments area. Venture Infotek is expected to reinforce Atos Origin’s payment initiatives in Asia, as the company has previously established partnerships with financial services providers in China and in other south-east Asian countries such as Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan or the Philippines.
