Calypso Canada receives Mastercard EMV Approval Friday 12 March 2010 | 09:49 AM CET

Canadian ABM processor Calypso, a Transaction Network Services (TNS) company, has received EMV approval from MasterCard to switch to EMV and Chip-certified technology.

The MasterCard EMV approval for Calypso Canada’s PCI DSS certified ABM processing environment is the latest in a series of investments made by the latter. In 2009, Calypso Canada’s EMV Chip platform was validated by the Interac Association.

The investment emerged as an intention to comply with a set of standards outlined by the Canadian and international payment networks. Such regulations are set to create a more secure network for Canadian merchants and their customers.

Transaction Network Services is an international data communications company that offers payments, money and voices services.
